Wine is special. As soon as it is treated as just another mass-produced product it loses its character, charm, and ultimately its quality. At The Neighborhood Cellar we make hand-crafted wines in small quantities, much like it was done centuries ago. These traditional methods are combined with select modern techniques that meet our quality standards. The results are wines of exceptional quality, longevity, depth, and grace. We hope that you will have the opportunity to enjoy our award-winning wines and that we will earn your loyalty.

The Neighborhood Cellar Local:
We believe strongly in bringing to you the most distinctive wines made from our work with the finest local vineyards. We are very enthusiastic about the next frontier of winemaking in America: world class wines emerging from the most unexpected places.

While in past vintages we also used grapes from California (in addition to local grapes) in our wines, starting in 2007 we have gone 100% local.

The Neighborhood Cellar Grapes:
We only work with small growers who use agriculturally sound farming methods. These grapes are hand-picked at optimal ripeness.

The Neighborhood Cellar By-hand Methods:
We use traditional, hand punch-down methods on our fermenting must. We ferment in small, open-top fermentors the way it has been done for centuries.

The Neighborhood Cellar No Filtering:
We believe filtering removes much of a wine’s unique characteristics, particularly as it relates to aging. We use traditional methods to fine our wines, which takes longer and is more labor intensive, but allows us to make the finest wine possible.

The Neighborhood Cellar French Oak Aging:
All of our wines are aged in premium French oak barrels for a minimum of one year.
